Electronic publishing container for scientific theses in the Saudi Geographical Society

Article [1]: Objectives of the unit:

Based on the interest of the Saudi Geographical Society in activating geographical mobility and to complement its role in this field, the Board of Directors of the Society, in its one hundred and nineteenth session held on 9/8/1436 AH, decided to add a new dimension to geographical publishing by establishing a new container for electronic publishing of scientific messages.

This proposed bowl comes in response to the objectives of the association stipulated in its statute and to encourage geographers and support their studies. It also aims to motivate creative geographers and encourage them to achieve more excellence and creativity.

Article [2]: Publication Conditions:

This container is concerned with publishing theses for the master's and doctoral levels, which deal with any of the geographical fields, and the following conditions apply to them:

  1. The letter must not have been published before.

  2. To be objective and original and deal with a good new topic in its idea and treatment.

  3. To be documented according to the scientific methodology.

  4. It should be written in the proper language.

  5. The author of the thesis should attach a recommendation from the thesis supervisor and discussion committee members that it is valid for publication.

  6. The thesis must not have been discussed for more than three years before it was submitted for publication.

  7. To be authorized by the arbitration committee formed for this purpose.

Article [3]: Publication Controls:

  1. The message is published electronically on the association's website.

  2. Published in (PDF) format.

  3. Copyright of the Saudi Geographical Society is reserved for a period of five years.

  4. The researcher may not publish the thesis electronically on other electronic publishing sites or containers.

  5. Messages are given a serial number, for example:

    A- Master's Theses “Geographical Theses - Master (1)”.

    B- Doctoral Theses “Geographical Theses - Ph.D. (1)”

  6. For each Hijri year, a number of master's and doctoral theses are specified, for example, three master's theses and three doctoral theses.

  7. The association undertakes the procedures for obtaining the King Fahd National Library Number (ISBN).

  8. The publication of these is limited to Saudi researchers who obtained their scientific degrees from universities inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in any language.

  9. A special cover is designed for master's theses and another for doctoral theses, including the association's logo and a reference to the association's publishing efforts.

  10. The association does not grant any financial rights to the author of the letter, and the association grants only 20% of the value of publication sales (in the case of an electronic sale).

  11. The association has the right to publish any message that is published through the association's website and the sites that have agreements between it and the association.

  12. The publication is subject to publishing controls in the Saudi Geographical Society.

  13. Everything that is not mentioned in these controls will be the reference in the publishing controls in the Saudi Geographical Society.
