National Environmental Awareness Campaign
1435 – 1436 AH
Introduction:
Believing in the importance of preserving the environment in all its elements of water, air, and soil, raising environmental awareness, and reaching the largest possible number of citizens, especially school students (boys and girls), the Society intends to carry out the "National Environmental Awareness Campaign." Which includes many elements as follows:
1. Issuing a number of leaflets dealing with environmental pollution, waste pollution, noise pollution, and climate change.
2- Giving a number of lectures on environmental pollution and its dangers in secondary schools in all regions of the Kingdom.
3- Issuing a documentary book on environmental pollution case studies.
4. Conducting a cultural competition on environmental pollution and its risks.
Campaign Outline:
1- Issuing leaflets that include the following issues: pollution, waste, and climate change.
– Specifications of brochures:
– Issuing brief leaflets that give useful and meaningful information, taking into account the ages of the target group.
– Supports with colorful images and shapes.
– Be attractive, so that it captures the attention of the targets.
2- Giving lectures containing a number of elements, designed in an attractive way through a PowerPoint presentation supported by pictures, shapes, and numbers.
– Lecture specifications:
– Take into account that the lecture time is appropriate so as not to cause boredom.
– Information that is presented is interesting and effective in delivering the message.
– Accompanied by an attractive and functional PowerPoint presentation.
– The same lecture is given in the targeted schools so that a team in each region is assigned to present it in the schools in the area.
These lectures focus on the importance of waste management by scientific and modern methods so that recycling, reuse, and waste reduction are carried out, in addition to the reuse of wastewater and gray water for various vital purposes, including irrigation of gardens, increasing the green area in cities and producing clean biogas. The importance of recycling and utilizing electronic waste to preserve our natural resources, safe and healthy disposal of hazardous waste and medical waste, and the proper preservation of the place where humans live, is also noted.
3. Issuing a documentary book to be distributed to schools.
– The program is designed according to the objectives of the campaign, presented in a clear, attractive, and accompanying images and illustrations.
– The program contains three case studies:
– Pollution case study.
– Study the situation of waste and its risks.
– Noise case study.
– The cases are presented in the manner of a documentary film and be short, and attractive.
The book includes a set of specialized environmental articles related to the importance of preserving the environment, which reflect the results of scientific thesis studies in Saudi universities.
4- A cultural competition, the competition is an important element because it stimulates competition, and the student or the target is not bored, and if it is announced that students are honored in a ceremony or special occasion. We have met the motivation factor. It includes two axes:
- Questions on the dangers of pollution, noise, and waste and their negative impacts.
- An essay is required in the campaign themes, a time period is determined, then the articles are judged, and the winners are selected.
