Rules for publishing geographical studies

 

1- The research that undertakes a series of geographical studies, and publishes it, takes into account the scientific originality, the correctness of the scientific output, and the soundness of the language.

2- The research submitted for the series must not have been previously published.

3- The research should be sent in the name of the editorial board chairman.

4- All assets are presented in a digital form printed on the MS WORD system, windows environments (Windows) on A4-size paper, leaving a space and a half between each line and another in Al-Hotham font for the text and in Monotype Koufi font for the titles, 16 white font for the text and 12 white font for the margins (font 16). Black for Quranic verses and hadiths). The minimum search limit is [75] pages.

5- The original research shall be sent with two copies and a summary of (250) words in both Arabic and English.

6- It is taken into account that the shapes are presented in a digital form that can be read and displayed by a computer, on the Adobe Photoshop program, or in ESO format, or in TIFF format, provided that the images have a minimum resolution of 300 pixels, and the size is 120X180 mm, and the colored shapes are in RGB format. The shapes are rendered in black and white in a grayscale format.

7- Publishable research selected by the editorial board shall be sent to at least two arbitrators in the field of specialization from inside or outside the Kingdom before publishing it in the series.

8- The editorial board of the series informs the research owners of the date of receiving their research. As well as informing them of the final decision regarding the acceptance of the research for publication or not, with the return of unacceptable research to its owners.

9- Each researcher or principal investigator of a group of researchers participating in the research shall be granted twenty-five copies of the published research.

10- The rules for referring to sources are applied using the (name/date) system. This system requires referring to the source of information in the text in brackets with the name of the author, followed by the date and page number. If the author is repeated in two different references, but they have the same date, one of them is distinguished by adding a letter to the year of reference. As for the list of references, it must be arranged alphabetically according to the type of source as follows:

A- Books: The author’s family name is mentioned (the first author if the reference has more than one author) followed by the first name, then the year of publication in parentheses, then the title of the book, the edition number – if any – then the publisher, and finally the city of publication. Each piece of information is separated by an inverted comma.

B- Periodicals: The author’s family name is mentioned, followed by the first name, then the year of publication in brackets, then the title of the article, then the title of the periodical, then the volume number, then the issue number, then the page numbers of the article (pp. 5-15).

C- Edited books: The author's family name is mentioned followed by the first name, then the year of publication in parentheses, then the chapter title, then writes (in) underlined, then the editor's family name followed by the first name, as well as for the co-editors, then (editor ed. or editors eds.), then the title of the book, then the volume number, the edition number, and finally the publisher, then the city of publication.

D- Unpublished Theses: The author's family name is mentioned, followed by the first name, then the year of obtaining the degree in parentheses, then the title of the thesis, then the type of the thesis (Master's/PhD), then the name of the university and the city in which it is located.

11- The margins are used only when absolutely necessary and are allocated for notes and applications of value in clarifying the text.
