Dialogue “Teaching Geography in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” on 10/25/1410 Hijri corresponding to 5/24/1990. The dialogue discussed a number of topics, as follows: a collection of books and curricula, a group of geography teachers, a group of students of geography, and a group of teachers of geography . A number of lecturers participated in the dialogue: King Saud University - College of Education - Abha, King Saud University - College of Arts - Riyadh, Teachers College - Jeddah, College of Arts for Girls - Riyadh, King Abdulaziz Military College - Riyadh.
Dialogue on “Geographical Information Systems GIS” in coordination with the High Commission for the Development of the City of Riyadh, and was held on 11/15/1413 AH, corresponding to 5/6/1993.

Symposium on “Saudi Gazetteer and Syrian Gazetteer”: His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdul Latif Al Sheikh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Geographical Society, and His Excellency Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shawqi bin Ibrahim Makki, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Geographical Society, participated in the symposium. The symposium was held at the Cultural Center in Mazzeh, Damascus, on 11/13/1421 Hijri.
Panel discussion “Preparation of a national plan for teaching geography in public and university education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” on 8/20/1425 Hijri corresponding to 10/4/2004: The seminar aimed to improve all geography curricula in order to serve geography and those affiliated with it in culture, education, and research at all levels of education. Keeping abreast of the status of geography and its role in the developed world, and changing society's idea of geography in general. A number of topics were discussed, as follows: definition of the reality of teaching geography in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, reviewing the experiences of developed countries and recent trends in teaching geography, and determining the size and nature of the relationship between teaching geography in general education and university education:
Panel discussion on “Municipal elections and the role of geographical factors in their success”: The Saudi Geographical Society, in coordination with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh, organized a panel discussion entitled “Municipal elections and the role of geographical factors in their success,” at exactly 7:30 pm on Monday 23 Shawwal 1425 Hijri, in the hall, The lectures were held at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh. The topics of the panel discussion dealt with the importance of the place and its relationship to geography, the municipal administration of the place, geographical factors and requirements for the development of the place, planning for the development of the place, and global experiences of the contribution of geographers to local planning. The panel discussion aims to build bridges of communication between the association's employees and community institutions, and to clarify an important area of interest for geographers that is related to development (place development and its relationship to municipal administration). The panel discussion was moderated by Prof. Dr. Asaad bin Suleiman Abdo, a member of the Shura Council, and the speakers in the panel are:
Field documentation of the Battle of Badr: The Saudi Geographical Society, in cooperation with the Medina Research and Studies Center, organized a scientific meeting entitled “Field Documentation of the Battle of Badr during the period 12-14/2/1426 Hijri at the King Abdulaziz Public Library in Madinah. Many specialists in the field participated in this scientific meeting. Geography, history, and archeology.
Transportation in Makkah Al-Mukarramah: A Geographical Vision: The Saudi Geographical Society, in cooperation with Umm Al-Qura University, organized a panel discussion on the occasion of choosing Makkah Al-Mukarramah as the capital of Islamic culture for the year 1426 Hijri/ 2005, entitled: Transportation in Makkah Al-Mukarramah: A Geographical Vision, in which Dr. Saad bin Nasser Al-Hussein, on the subject: transportation services and connecting roads to Makkah Al-Mukarramah, d. Zuhair bin Abdullah Hussain Makki, on the topic: traffic jams in the city of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and d. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Raqiba, on the topic of frequency transmission between the holy sites, and the episode was moderated by Dr. Muhammad bin Saleh Al-Rabadi. Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Geographical Society. The seminar was held on Monday, 10/19/1426 Hijri, at eight o'clock in the evening, in Prince Faisal bin Fahd Hall, Umm Al-Qura University, in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, in Al-Aziziyah.
Panel discussion: Facts and Impressions from the Empty Quarter Journey: The Saudi Geographical Society organized a panel discussion entitled: Facts and Impressions from the Empty Quarter Journey, in which: Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Ibrahim Al-Obaida in the axis: “Maps and their alternatives for the Empty Quarter,” and Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah bin Laboun in the axis: “The waters and marshes of the Empty Quarter,” and Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Sharekh, in the axis: “The ancient human presence in the Empty Quarter,” and the episode was moderated by Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Jar Allah Al Jar Allah, the seminar was held in the King Abdul Aziz House, on 4/4/1427 Hijri.
Panel discussion: The future vision in the interpretation and analysis of satellite images: The specialized group for maps and geographic information systems at the Saudi Geographical Society, in cooperation with the Department of Geography at the College of Arts, King Saud University, organized a scientific meeting with the Swiss company Leica, which produces programs for the interpretation and analysis of satellite images, on Sunday 1/ 11/1428 Hijri (corresponding to 11/11/2007) from 10-12 noon, in the auditorium of the College of Arts, King Saud University (Hall 153 AA - Department of Geography), and the scientific meeting will include three axes, as follows:
1- The future outlook in the field of remote sensing software.
2- The future outlook for the field of remote sensing.

A symposium on teaching geography in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in which: Prof. Dr. Yahya bin Muhammad Sheikh Abu al-Khair participated: “The Contemporary Perspective of Scientific Methodology in Geography,” Prof. Dr. Hassan Ayel bin Ahmed Yahya entitled: “Modern Developments in Geography Teaching,” and delivered it on behalf of Dr. Malhi bin Ali Al-Ghazwani, Prof. Dr. Ali bin Moada Al-Ghamdi, entitled: “Digital Maps for Teaching Geography,” Dr. Muhammad bin Dakhil Al-Dakhil, entitled: “Methods of Evaluating the Achievement of Geography Students,” and the symposium was held in the private curriculum schools in Riyadh, on 6/27 / 1437 Hijri.
A panel discussion entitled: “The Importance of global understanding and the Role of the Kingdom in promoting this understanding.” Participated in: Dr. Hessa bint Saif Al-Saif (Saudi Arabia and its contribution to aspects of scientific research that promote the idea of international cooperation and its activation to protect the environment), and A. .Dr. Khalid bin Nahar Al-Ruwais (the Kingdom's efforts to support international economic cooperation), and d. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Dabel (the Kingdom's efforts in international political cooperation), and Prof. Ibrahim bin Zayed Al-Asiri (The Kingdom’s efforts in national and international dialogue).
